Southern California Edison (SCE)

Incoming Intern – SP&E Summer 2026

Incoming summer intern in the System Planning & Engineering (SP&E) division at Southern California Edison, one of the largest electric utilities in the United States serving approximately 15 million people across 50,000 square miles.

SCE has been powering Southern California for almost 140 years, with roots tracing back to 1886. The company was an early pioneer in renewable energy—in 1980 they began generating wind power at San Gorgonio Pass near Palm Springs, and in 2006 they planned a wind farm triple the size of any existing U.S. wind farm at the time. They also run the only gas and water utilities on Catalina Island!

UC San Diego HDSI 3.0 Lab

Undergraduate Research Fellow 2025 – Present

Working at the intersection of AI, engineering, and art to build K–12 educational engagement projects at the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute (HDSI) 3.0 Lab. The fellowship combines data science, robotics, and creative technologies with hands-on experience across multiple domains.

Also contributing to a 3D fiber-optic installation with Arduino-controlled LEDs and 3D-printed linear actuators, presented through an interactive visual exhibit emphasizing hands-on learning. Supporting the development of a machine learning–assisted self-alignment system that automatically corrects fiber-optic misalignment—demonstrating hardware–software integration and applied ML in physical systems.
